Interim Bail Granted, Corruption Charges Upheld

The Supreme Court has issued a split judgment on the bail petition filed by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. While the court granted interim bail to Naidu, it upheld the corruption charges against him in the skill development scam case.
Naidu, who is the president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was arrested on Tuesday and sent to Rajahmundry Central Jail. He was accused of involvement in a multi-crore skill development scam during his tenure as chief minister.
The Supreme Court's interim bail order allows Naidu to be released from jail pending further hearing of the case. However, the court has made it clear that the corruption charges against him remain in place.
