Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron is in contention to start the Magpies' Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The Paraguayan international has been in impressive form during pre-season, scoring Newcastle's only goal in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea in Atlanta.
Almiron also played well in Newcastle's 3-0 win over Atalanta in their final pre-season friendly.
The 28-year-old is now hoping to translate his good form into the Premier League season.
"I am feeling good," Almiron said. "I am feeling confident. I am ready to start the season."
Almiron's good form in pre-season has given Newcastle manager Eddie Howe a selection headache.
The Magpies have a number of attacking options to choose from, including Allan Saint-Maximin, Jacob Murphy and Ryan Fraser.
However, Almiron's form suggests that he could be a key player for Newcastle this season.
The Paraguayan is a direct and skilful winger who can create chances for his team-mates and score goals himself.
If Almiron can continue his good form into the Premier League season, he could be a valuable asset for Newcastle.
