Max Azzarello, 37, of St. Augustine, Fla., set himself on fire outside the Trump trial in Manhattan on April 19, police said.
Azzarello, who has ties to New Jersey, was standing in a park across the street from the courthouse when he threw pamphlets into the air before dousing himself with a liquid and setting himself ablaze, witnesses said.

The motive for Azzarello's self-immolation is not known.
Azzarello was an investigative researcher who had written extensively about the Trump Organization and its finances.
He was also a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump.
